My journey in free enterprise has not been without it’s ups and downs. The ups are amazing experiences and I often get that “Someone please pinch me” feeling because it can feel completely surreal. On the opposite side, the “downs” have felt like being in a dark hole with no way out.
The bad news is that the majority of people do not hang on long enough to find the way out of the hole. They may take a swing at something that could potentially change their lives and quit after the first or second miss. The failure rate in home business is so high because of this simple fact. People give up to easily. They quit the instant it gets hard. You can take a look at college graduation statistics and see the trend continue. When the going gets tough the absolute easiest thing to do is just quit and go back to the “comfort zone” of their life. The funny thing is for most people their “comfort zone” is completely uncomfortable!
The good news is there always is a way out of a low. The other good news is that there are steps you can take on your road to make the down times feel less down. It is not a matter of if you will fall, it is more accurately, when you will fall. Accept that challenges are part of life and become determined to overcome them.
Here are 3 easy ways you can use to keep your head up or have it be the hand up for you when you fall.
1. Visualize positive things ALL the time.
You can turn a perfectly awful day into a fabulous day by focusing on the good things rather than the bad ones. This practice will help you in all areas of your life.
2. Surround yourself with positive people who have already achieved what you want to.
They will be your biggest asset to overcoming challenges in your life. If you do not know anyone successful in your life pick up a book or two. Books like Think and Grow Rich, The Magic of Thinking Big, How to Win Friends and Influence People, What to say When You Talk to Yourself, The Slight Edge, are all great examples of books that will help you excel in your business and your life. Borrow these authors as your positive influence and watch how you start to grow personally and in your business!
3. Live for today in the now. Do not live in the rear view mirror!
Do not dwell on your past mistakes or failures but rather look to the solutions that will mold your future.
Remember if success was easy everyone would be successful. Embrace challenges as learning experiences and move on!
